Summer Camp Descriptions
Work Group (June 2-7)
Does Lakeshore Center have a special place in your heart? Do you want to give back to the camp so others can grow to love it just as much as you do? Being part of a work group might be perfect for you! You will enjoy traditional camp activities, like time at the lake or doing arts and crafts, while helping staff complete the necessary work to prepare the camp for summer. We won’t be at our best without your help, and can’t wait to see you here!
Day Camp (June 10-13)
Looking for an experience to introduce your child to all that summer camp has to offer? Try Day Camp! With an 8 am to 5 pm day, the time frame is working parent-friendly, too! Your camper will experience all the traditional camp activities like chapel, archery, crafts, and the lake while returning to their familiar surroundings at night. Lunch is provided, along with a morning and afternoon snack. Join us for one or more action-packed days and give camp a try!
Make and Bake (June 16-20)
Do you enjoy cooking and crafting? Then join us for Make and Bake Camp! This camp is all about you. Our staff is putting together several options with you in mind. We are looking at a Cake Off with judges invited in, a Chopped Challenge Picnic Lunch, and making marshmallows for an evening campfire for the cooking portion of the camp. We are also looking at great crafting options like sewing, crocheting, etching glass, painting, and pottery for you to explore for the crafting portion of this camp. Best of all, you will help us decide what to do by filling out an interest survey before you arrive! We can’t wait to Make and Bake with you!
Hike, Bike, and Paddle (June 16-20)Do you like going on adventures? Do you enjoy spending time outdoors? Are you tough enough to handle a full-day adventure using new skills you just learned? Then join us for Hike, Bike, and Paddle. You will spend the 16th through the 18th learning the basic skills to hike, bike, and canoe. Then, go on an all-day adventure using all the skills you’ve learned on the 19th. Come prepared to geo-cache, swamp a canoe, make bike repairs, and eat at least one backpacking meal! This camp will spend some time off-site from the Lakeshore Center campus in the Okoboji area.
Blast Camp (June 23-26)
Are you ready to stay in a cabin with new friends at camp?
Try Blast Camp! From s’mores around the campfire to swimming in the lake to participating in worship and energizers, you will get to try everything camp offers. This camp is sure to be a blast! We hope to see you there!
Creative Camp (June 27-30)
Are you full of creative energy and ready to turn it loose? Kick it into high gear at Creative Camp! You will receive a Google survey that will let you help guide us in programming this camp. There will be options in performance arts like theater and music, visual arts like photography and painting, and even creative writing. Ultimately, the group will work with the camp chaplain to create and lead the Sunday Service using their God-given talents to create a memorable worship experience. Create with us!

Do you love spending time with your family at Lakeshore Center and enjoying all the fun camp activities? Do you also enjoy spending time on the Iowa Great Lakes and visiting all the local attractions? Family Camp is the perfect blend of camp life and family vacation! Enjoy meals, worship, and traditional camp activities while being able to go out and experience all the fun the Lakes Area has to offer! Be sure to bring some camp chairs or blankets to enjoy s’mores and fireworks by the lake for a fun-filled 4th of July!

Splash and Dash (July 7-9)
Do you enjoy all things water? Let’s Splash and Dash! We’ll enjoy all the traditional camp activities, but spend most of our day playing in the water. With sprinkler Twister, making water bombs, bucket relays, and more, come prepared to get wet. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
Middle School Campference (July 14-17)
What’s better than coming to camp on your own? Coming to camp with all of your friends from Youth Group, of course! During the day, your youth group will participate in all the activities you’ve come to know and love at Lakeshore Center, but after dinner, your activities will be up to your youth group. It’s all the best parts of summer camp mixed with all the best parts of a youth retreat!
Super Duper Sleepover (July 20-21)
Ready to try sleeping at camp? Try Super Duper Sleepover! We’ll do all of the traditional camp activities like worship, swimming, and arts and crafts. Then we have some super duper surprise activities planned to carry us into the night. You won’t want to miss this Super Duper fun overnight experience!
